Embassy of Nepal in Riyadh organized an interaction programme with some Saudi journalists representing various media outlets at the Embassy of Nepal on 21 December 2019.
Welcoming the guests, Ambassador of Nepal to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H. E. Prof. Dr. Mahendra Prasad Singh Rajput briefly highlighted some salient features of relations between Nepal and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He also highlighted the importance of the role of media to strengthen relations between countries.
Presenting Nepal as one of the most preferred holiday destinations for foreigners, HE the ambassador informed the media representatives of the decision of the Government of Nepal to observe the year 2020 as Visit Nepal Year. HE the ambassador requested the media persons to help promote Visit Nepal Year 2020.
The media persons actively participated in the interaction programme. The media personalities were interested about Nepal’s natural landscapes, cultural heritages, floras and faunas, mountains and other areas of Saudi interests. HE the ambassador and Embassy officials responded to their queries. The representatives expressed their full commitment to support the Embassy and the Government of Nepal in their endeavour to promote Visit Nepal Year 2020 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Varieties of packets of Nepali tea and tourism promotional materials were distributed to the guests as souvenirs.
Altogether 15 Editors, Reporters, TV anchors and Representatives from reputed Saudi media Al Watan Newspaper, Arab Weeks, Iqraa TV Channel, Al Hayat News, Saudi Gazette, Riyadh XPress Alriyadh Newspaper, Sabq Newspaper, Aljazira, Arab News, News 24, Tourism, Asharq Al awsat Newspaper, Arab Gulf News and News Chanel were present in the programme.
